What a week it has been!!!
We left for our Genting trip last Sunday (with Dad, Mom, Helena & kids, and Auntie Doris) and got back on Wednesday … totally pooped. Bringing 10 children to Genting is not for the faint-hearted 🙂 To make it more challenging, Ruth was not well and was quite miserable with the cold weather. It was also foggy for the two full days we were there, so we were limited in the outdoor rides and when it rained, we were limited to the indoor theme park 😦 There was a lot of walking and a lot of standing around. And my legs felt as if they were going to give way.
On Friday, the entire Lim Tribe was up at 6:30am, leaving the house at 7:15am for the Homeschool Sports Day. It was nice to see all the homeschoolers come together for a time of sports, fun and fellowship. The weather was great too – not too hot nor sunny (until the later part of the morning). It was another 3 – 4 hrs of standing, walking and running, capturing photos of my children participating in the races. And finally, I ran the last leg of the Family Relay … just 100m of sprinting and I am still feeling the aches in my body and legs 😦
No rest on a Saturday too. I had a meeting to discuss Discipleship plans in the morning. And in the afternoon, I had a meaningful time with my Diploma students as we provoked and reminded one another to keep running the race. And not just running, but running to win. Following that, it was dinner at my parents’ place with Helena and children. By then, I was really struggling to keep awake.
It was another early start today. We were in church by 7:45am for worship rehearsal for the 9:30am Anniversary Service, followed by Anniversary Lunch at River View Hotel which lasted until 3pm. As I drove home, I could feel my eyes closing. The short nap after was much, much needed!
What a week it has been! Eventful, but very tiring. But there is no chance of resting or taking things easy. The next two days are filled with meetings and family appointments. I leave for Davao City for a ministry trip on Wednesday. I don’t know how I am going to make it to the airport by 7am on Wednesday morning. Perhaps, I can catch a few winks on board? Who knows?
All I know is that I have to be at my best when I speak and minister at the Young Adults Conference and Sunday Services. Well, I guess I will be … for in my weakness, His power will be made perfect!
