Will all Christians enter the Kingdom of God?

In my interaction with many brothers and sisters in-Christ, I have discovered that not everyone has the same understanding of the Kingdom of God.  Some think it’s the church.  Some think that it’s the same as salvation.  Some believe it’s already here.  Some don’t know where it is, or what it is.  Some think they are already in the Kingdom.  Some haven’t the slightest clue.

Considering that this was Jesus’ pet topic, there really shouldn’t be such diverse views within His church!  And yet, many are still confused and unsure of the realities and implications of the Kingdom of God.

As such, I thought it’d be interesting to conduct a simple poll.  Does being a Christian automatically qualify one to enter the Kingdom the God?  What do you think?  I hope you will be sporting enough to participate in it that we can all learn from the results.

  1. To enter the Kingdom is one thing, to be or remain in the Kingdom is another. In considering Matthew 7:21 – one wonders how many members in our churches today assume that they are saved when in fact they treat Jesus’ teachings lightly. People (or”Christians”) who give no thought to their temper, their mental chastity, their integrity and so forth during the week (compare 5:21-48), then pretend to be religious or even spiritually gifted in church. Do we have the courage to communicate Jesus’ message as clearly as he meant it to be conveyed, to warn ourselves and others that it is possible for people to assume they are saved and yet be damned? Some texts in the Bible provide assurance to suffering Christians that the kingdom is theirs; this text challenges “cultural Christians,” those following only Christian tradition rather than Christ himself, to realize that they need conversion. Scary.
