Send Your Rain

This has been on my heart from end 2009 since the words “gird up the loins”* were spoken into my spirit.  Drawing from 1 Peter 1:13-21, and then from 1 Kings 18:41-46, I received an understanding that we stand on the threshold of a great outpouring from the Lord, a new season of abundant rain!

As we pray for our local church, we have begun praying for rain, for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit, of His power, of His glory.  Next week, on 26 Feb, our Overnight Prayer will focus on “Holy Spirit Rain Down”.  For our upcoming School of Ministry’s Encounter Weekend in March, I have also themed it “Send Your Rain”.

Imagine the excitement in my heart when I read this on Facebook by “This Side of the Cross” today …

“Is there anyone else out there who is filled with anticipation of what God is about to pour out on us?  There is a whole bunch of us here in Australia feeling like there is about to be a great release in the Spirit – call it a ‘shift’ or ‘outpouring’ – it’s something significant.  It’s almost like the very atmosphere is … electric with a very pregnant expectancy. The gates are opening up and the King of Glory is about to come in!”

As if that’s not enough, check out the comments that followed …

“I know there is some of us here in Ohio that feel that same way…we have already started to see God moving. Our pastor calls 2010 the year of Restoration and we have already started to see souls saved…can’t wait to see what He will do next.”

“Absolutely! In country NSW. Cleansing for 2010 started with 4 inches of drought breaking rain. Amen!”

“Be at Wellington COC, NSW this Friday night at 7pm…it’s beginning to rain…it’s beginning to pour. He’s beginning to get His church in a place where He can shower His Spirit down on ‘new wineskins’ that will carry His Spirit to our communities and this Great SouthLand of The Holy Spirit.”

“Absolutely, that very song and verse were in my spirit all day today. ‘Lift up your head oh ye gates for The King of Glory to come in.’ Joyful Expectancy”

This is so, so awesome!!!  For sure, “there is the sound of abundance of rain”!  This is not the time to let up or be distracted by the things and cares of this world.  God is beginning to move in a mighty way and He is looking for vessels that would be set apart for His purposes!  I am going to press in and lay hold of everything there is laid up for me!  O Lord, use this jar of clay!  Fill me with Your rain until I overflow to impact everyone around me!!!
